Different wrestling

American college and high school wrestling is folkstyle wrestling. International wrestling is mostly freestyle and greco.

Freestyle shares a lot with folkstyle, minus the top/down mat starts. And a lot of the best American folkstyle wrestlers transition to freestyle to get into the international competition and maybe continue their wrestling careers past college - like we've just seen McFadden and Lewis do.

But there's probably not much interest among young Russian wrestlers in learning folkstyle, and even if there was, where would they practice and with whom? Likewise, if an American coach wanted to recruit a Russian wrestler for folkstyle, where would he find him and how would he evaluate him?
